Having successfully rebranded the band Jazzbomb – an ensemble who perform jazz, swing and rat pack classics – we were subsequently asked to brand their second CD, “Let’s Face The Music and Dance”.
With a stark black and orange graphic palette and bold typography on the cover, we playfully reversed the ‘F’ of ‘Face’ to illustrate the concept. We also art-directed the photography, positioning a shot of the band behind the disc so that people would see the band’s faces as they removed the CD to listen.
A playful musical scene across a London skyline is simply and graphically illustrated within, paying close attention to typographic consistency for descriptions and track listings.
The album has sold well since its release, and Jazzbomb are soaring high!
“I had an entirely positive experience working with Base Creative. They pushed hard into discovering the essence of Jazzbomb and that initial work then permeated every part of the branding, CD and design of our website. They managed to add a certain level of ‘magic dust’ to all the material I gave them – turning good photos into something exceptional visually. In the digital world the technology treadmill moves so quickly, that something that looked cutting edge a year ago looks tired today, 5 years on, I still get clients telling me how impressed they are with my website and how it is the best they’ve seen whilst researching bands.
Base Creative has continued to respond so quickly when something has not worked on the website. Their speed in responding has definitely saved me valuable work.”
